The lunch menu is simple but has options from a good old hamburger to a vegan zucchini boat stuffed with warm black bean corn salsa.
Dinner features a chicken, steak and salmon dinner, each accompanied by the diner’s choice of “carbs and nutrients.” Marina manager Jacqueline Everett said her favorite was the grilled Alaskan salmon, which comes topped with a seafood Newburg. Dinners also come with a house salad and bread.
The top seller at both lunch and dinner so far is a decadent burrito served with fresh homemade guacamole and salsa fresca, according to restaurant manager Tracy Evans. Her favorite at lunch is the Captain’s chicken cobb salad.
Appetizers are served after 3 p.m. and focus on seafood, including calamari, shrimp cocktail and crab cakes.
Dinner al fresco at Brewster’s is always a happening place.
The restaurant is kid friendly and offers a special menu for young diners.
The Compass Rose bar features a number of custom cocktails, all with nautical themes, such as the El Drake mojito, which pairs perfectly with that burrito!
A robust, affordable wine list rounds out the bar’s offerings. “I wanted wines that were affordable and good,” Everett said. “Different, states, different countries, a nice selection and reasonable.”
On July 22 the Compass Rose had live music with a performance by Steve Furno and Gus Downes, and they hope to continue with one night of live entertainment per week.

Saltwater Café
The Saltwater Café opens at 7 a.m.
Saltwater Café opened in mid-July on the corner of Gulf Road and Marine Drive, a relaxed coastal space with an evolving menu. The café is open Tuesday through Sunday serving breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Breakfast includes hearty fare like baked eggs Florentine and a selection of baked goods. The lunch menu will feature a daily soup and a selection of salads, sandwiches and paninis.
On Friday and Saturday the café will serve dinner from 5 – 9 p.m. with the menu changing weekly. Recent standout appetizers have been a charcuterie board and a Caprese salad.
Fully licensed, the café serves full flights of beer and wine and specialty cocktails.The café will likely see its hours change in the fall but owner Tamra Hansen said they plan to stay open year-round.
