A larger-than-usual crowd of demonstrators gathered at the corner of Gulf and Tyee roads on Oct. 17 for "No Kings Day." The event was part of nationwide protests focused on the theme of encouraging early voting. Community members have maintained a daily vigil at the intersection from noon to 1 p.m. for nearly a year following the Jan. 7 fatal ICE shooting of Renée Good.
