PRCAC issues call for new board members

Posted
The Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee has issued a callout to local residents interested in becoming board members. The board is currently short two at-large members and wishes to bring the committee to full-strength.

PRCAC is established under Whatcom County Code and provides input and advice to the county executive and county council on matters of interest affecting Point Roberts.

According to the county executive’s office, the county has four applications at this point and intends to name members shortly. The office is in the process of issuing a letter regarding the status of the voter’s association’s board membership as well. The association is one of two Point Roberts organizations guaranteed a seat on the committee; its status was recently jeopardized after it failed to maintain the organization’s registration with the Washington Secretary of State’s office and had not held any meetings for over a year.
