The red glow in the sky that all-nighters and early morning risers have been noticing recently is not coming from the lights on the Highway 99 radio farm, as described in the most recent issue of the All Point Bulletin. Rather, they are coming from energy-efficient LED grow lights in some of the hothouses that line the northern shore of Boundary Bay. Plants respond differently to various light wavelengths and red spectrum lights are used to promote flowering or fruiting. For cannabis production specifically, red light is often used during the flowering stage.
