Dear Point Roberts Residents,
All members of the community are invited to attend an important meeting regarding the Blaine School District and Point Roberts Primary School on Friday, January 10 at 5 p.m. at the community center. Due to a steady decline in student enrollment over the past decade (excluding COVID-affected years), the school currently has only five students enrolled.
During the meeting, we will discuss the current situation and seek valuable feedback from the community. This is an opportunity for your voice to be heard as we navigate this challenging decision together.
Agenda:
- General Introduction and District Presentation
- Overview of Enrollment Trends District and Point Roberts PS
- Current and Projected School Operations - Including Bond Measure
- Impacts of Low Enrollment @ PRPS (Parent Perspectives Share out opportunity)
- Limited peer interaction, friendship and social development, including social norms such as sharing, cooperation, including collaborative learning and diverse social environments.
- Community Feedback and Open Discussion
We hope you will join us for this important conversation. Your perspective and involvement will help shape the future of education in our community.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Granger, Superintendent
Blaine School District
