Apples take the spotlight this Oct. 3 and 4 when the Point holds its annual Apple Harvest Festival. Celebrate our area’s fall bounty with music, crazy bingo outfits, food and more.
Whether you pick apples from your own backyard or find a friend with a tree or two, now is the time to harvest. Apples make sweeter, richer juice when they’ve been off the tree sweetening and “sweating” before being pressed.
Apple pressing will take place on Oct. 3 and 4 at the community center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring clean containers for your pressed juice or purchase containers on site. Apple pressing is free, but donations are accepted benefitting Point Roberts Circle of Care.
Oct. 3 will also bring the Everything Apple Bake Sale from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Kids Bingo from 3 to 4 p.m. Participants can dress up in an outrageous bingo outfits for prizes, pizza, popcorn and fun. Adults will take over for Big League Bingo at 5 p.m. There will be prizes for best bingo attire, bingo prizes, Madhouse Pizza and a cash bar.
From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, The Point Band will take the stage while patrons dance the night away to 1970s and 1980s music. There will be a 50/50 draw, and the Madhouse Pizza/Cash Bar will be available at the event. Admission to the dance is by donation.
