To paraphrase Mark Twain, the news of the APB's demise has been greatly exaggerated. In a Publisher's Note published on December 31, I announced the retirement of Louise Mugar and myself and expressed the hope that we would be able to transfer the publications of Point Roberts Press to a local nonprofit newspaper organization. I am happy to report that those talks are close to a successful conclusion and the APB will carry on under new management. Details will be released shortly.
Local reporter Erin Kelly will remain with the publication, and both Louise and I are committed to assisting her and the new publisher on an ongoing basis to ensure a smooth transition. And yes, there's more to come in my Port of Bellingham investigation.
