The Blaine School District Transition to Kindergarten (TK) program is coming to Point Roberts. The 2026-2027 school year will be the first year that the TK program will be taking place at the Point Roberts Primary School.
TK uses play-based and hands-on learning to help students prepare for kindergarten through academic, social and emotional development.
The program is a full time program, starting at 8:20 a.m. and ending at 2:50 p.m. on weekdays. The program mirrors the Kindergarten schedule.
Children must be 4 before September 1, 2026, and cannot be currently enrolled in another early learning program. A screening process will determine final eligibility. Children who are not enrolled in another early learning program or preschool and demonstrate academic, language or social needs are eligible.
TK students must go through the typical primary school registration process including birth certificate, proof of residency, and up-to-date immunizations. Students outside the “district walking zone” can access buses or IEP special transportation. Students will be eligible for school breakfast and lunch. There is also an application for free and reduced lunch available on the school district’s website.
Family conferences will take place before the first day of TK to allow parents to ask questions and meet the teacher. The school district will reach out regarding submitted TK interest forms by March 5.
Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is also open.
