As 2025 draws to a close, the Point Roberts Food Bank remains committed to supporting our community. We continue to assist roughly 70 households each week, relying on a strong network of regional partners, local businesses, farms, and individual donors whose generosity keeps our shelves stocked and our mission moving forward.
The free-standing Food Pantry outside the community center provides round-the-clock access to non-perishable items for anyone needing a little extra support between Friday distributions.
A major focus of 2025 has been advancing our long-term goal of creating a dedicated, climate-controlled storage facility. Following the approval of our conditional use permit in late 2024, we moved into the detailed permitting phase for the new 24×36 warehouse at 486 Teller Road. This building will allow us to consolidate supplies, improve food preservation and operate far more efficiently than our current mix of temporary storage and borrowed refrigeration. We are grateful for the community’s continued encouragement as this long-awaited project progresses. We also enjoyed a successful summer fundraiser, highlighted by a lively potluck and wonderful entertainment from Gina Zollman and Emily and the Strays. Events like this remind us how much the Food Bank is supported by – and connected to – the wider community.
Finally, we extend heartfelt thanks to our volunteers, whose efforts, big and small, make everything we do possible.
With deep gratitude, we look forward to serving our neighbors in 2026 and beyond.
