The Point Roberts Dollars for Scholars organization has announced it will award scholarships to 10 local students going to college this fall.
“The board members of Point Roberts Dollars for Scholars thank all of our generous partners for their donations,” said board member Steve O’Neill. “Post-secondary education is life-changing and expensive, and every year we receive heartfelt thanks from our recipients stating how our scholarships have enabled them to continue moving forward with their educational goals. Your contributions in 2017 are creating an opportunity for 10 local students to achieve their dreams.”
Graduating seniors Isabella Nielson and Grace Wilkowski will be among those receiving awards at the June 21 awards ceremony. Continuing students receiving awards will be Charles Glaser, Bo Glaser, Marisa Jacks, Leah Laird, Alex Peltier, Emilie Sarkissian, Alexandria Szabo and Sarah Vaughn-Jones.
The ceremony will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Gulf Road community center.
